Our Current Work

Understanding and Supporting Research-Practice Partnerships

We engage in inquiry and design related to Research-Practice Partnerships (RPPs). Our work in this area includes:

  • Developing tools to support RPP practice
  • Designing and conducting studies of RPPs
  • Conducting literature reviews to understand the state of the field
  • Conceptualizing and arguing for the potential of RPPs at the intersection of research and practice
  • Ongoing collaboration with NNERPP (the National Network for Research Practice Partnerships), funders, and individual RPPs

Designing at the Intersection of Research and Equity-Centered Systems Change

We are currently partnering with the Wallace Foundation to engage in design and inquiry related to how research can be a powerful tool within their Equity-Centered Pipeline Initiative. This work includes:

  • Design and facilitation of a Research-Practice Design Network that brings leaders from 8 districts together to collectively puzzle through their equity-centered systems change work
  • Design of - and inquiry into - effective approaches to fostering integration of research knowledge with practical knowledge, wisdom, and experience within equity-centered systems change work
  • Coordination of research teams investigating the ongoing development of equity-centered principal pipelines across 8 districts

Understanding Research Use in Educational Practice

We engage in inquiry into how research is used in educational practice.

Building the Field of Collaborative Education Research

We collaborate with partners across the country to further understanding of what it will take to move collaborative education research approaches from "niche to norm."
